Sauternes

Sauternes is a French sweet wine from the Sauternais region in Bordeaux and is made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle grapes that have been affected by noble rot. Sauternes wine growing is very complex with a high risk (some vintages have no noble rot) and relatively low yields. The best and most famous vineyard is Château d’Yquem.
