Nose
Pretty hefty sherry with undertones of vinegar. Brown sugar together with dark berries, most notably blackberries. Canned pears, cherry syrup and Christmas spices, alongside ginger bread and peeled peanuts. The alcohol isn’t that well integrated, but it’s bearable.
Taste
More sherry. Very smooth and fruity. Lots of cherries, raisins and rock sugar. Dark honey, honeyed dates and rum nut chocolate. A bit peppery around the edges. Hints of oak.
Finish
Long to medium. Warm and slightly spicy. Dried cherries and a bit of oak.
Overall
Pretty much exactly what I expected: sweet and fruity but also delicate and spicy. A very pleasant and morish representation of Autumn!
Score: very good and highly recommended (88 / 100)
