1949: William Delmè-Evans, architect and engineer, buys Tullibardine, at that time a beer brewery. Tullibardine {tully– BAR–deen} is named after the same-named moor. In 1951 Tullibardine starts production as a whisky distillery after a two year renovation period. Delmè-Evans sells the distillery in 1953 to the whisky broker Brodie Hepburn Limited.
1971: Ivergordon Distillers acquires Brodie Hepburn Limited. The new owner erects another two stills in 1973.
1993: Whyte & Mackay (owned by Fortune Brands) buys Ivergordon Distillers. Tullibardine is mothballed only one year later, in 1994.
2003: An independent consortium composed of four private investors, buys the distillery for £1.1 million. The new formed Tullibardine Limited starts production in December. Delmè-Evans dies in the same year.
2004: A visitor center opens.
2011: Picard, long time costumer of Tullibardine, takes over the distillery.
2013: The whole range is relaunched and six new bottlings are introduced.
There have already been a distillery named Tullibardine near Blackford between 1798 and 1837. The Bannerman family ran the distillery.
