Hello all you dear readers out there in readerland! How is it going for you lately?

In case you were wondering why there hasn’t been any new episodes today or yesterday: I did have some technical issues but now everything is back to normal.

With that being said, let’s have a short recap of what happened in June here on dramlicious.com before we have a look at what July has in store for us.

Despite all the technical hassle I went through in the last two days, I still managed to put out 27 new episodes. This includes two single grains from Invergordon bottled by Wemyss Malt, the new BenRiach Dunder, a Highland Single Cask 1995 exclusively bottled for Germany, a 24 years old Mortlach bottled at cask strength, the Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old which is probably one of the best 10 to 12 year old entry level expressions out there, a comparison between a Chardonnay Cask Matured Edradour and a Chardonnay Finished Edradour ‘Straight From The Cask’ and eight different expressions from Kavalan.

But the single most popular review this month was without a doubt the one I did on the Ardbeg Perpetuum. And given all the positive feedback it got, it is probably safe to say that I was not the only one disappointed by it.

As for personal highlights, my top five were:

Laphroaig 2001 Old Particular Feis Ile Bottling 2015 (Douglas Laing) (96 points)

Glenfarclas 1981 Port Pipe Edition (93 points)

KAVALAN Ex-Bourbon Oak (92 points)

Glenfarclas 1980 Christmas Single Malt Port Pipe Edition (92 points)

Caol Ila 2001 ‘Private Collection’ Hermitage Wood Finish (Gordon & MacPhail) (90 points)

What is more, the fine people at whic.de published their latest ebook with close to 400 pages packed with everything you need to know about Scotch Whisky. And the best thing: It is for free! So if you haven’t already, make sure to have a look at it (it’s on German though).

And to top things off, I was yesterday able to test a new innovative whisky glass from Australia. But more on that in a few days.

But now, without any further ado, let’s see what you can expect next month.

American Monday

Four new episodes of ‘American Monday’ will come out in July covering the whole Blanton’s range from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky.

Worldwide Wednesday

My plan is to review close to 20 expression from Nikka during July and August. I had this planned for quite some time already, but after the recent ‘Nikka Shock‘ it seems like the perfect time to do so.

Tasty Tastings

I will try to find a good balance between standard expressions, some older / more expensive stuff and independent bottlings. So next month’s episodes of ‘Tasty Tastings’ will cover, among other things:

Strathmore 1972 Single Grain (Rest & Be Thankful)

Teeling 2002 / 2015 Port Wine Cask

Tobermory 20 Years Old Distillery Only

the new GlenDronach 8 Years Old Hielan

the next installment of my Edradour miniseries where I compare an expression form their ‘Cask Matured’ Series with its respective counterpart from their ‘Straight From The Cask’ Series

two expressions from Glenmorangie, namely Taghta and Dornoch

and more bottlings from Wemyss Malt (Craigellachie, Glenrothes, Mortlach, Linkwood)

Peaty Friday

Next month’s line up for ‘Peaty Friday’ should be interesting:

Laphroaig 10 Years Old Cask Strength Batch 6 vs the new Batch 7

and even more Laphroaig: Cairdeas 2014 vs Cairdeas 2015

Ledaig 2008/2015 (Signatory Vintage)

three expressions from Benriach’s Fumosus series: Heredotus, Arumaticus and Maderensis

Bunnahabhain 8 Years Old (Gordon & MacPhail)

As always, I want to thank all my readers for their constant encouragement and supportive feedback, be it here or on Facebook and/or Twitter. And if you haven’t already, please take a minute and give my Facebook page a like and/or follow me on twitter.

Alright, that’s all for now but stay tuned for the things to come.

Until then, all the best!

Before we have a look at what June has in store for us, let’s have a short recap of what May brought to us. What a busy month here at dramlicious.com! Furthermore, I reviewed five different expressions from Buffalo Trace, four different expressions from Kavalan and just as many expressions from independent bottler Ian MacLeod.

What is more, my first article for German online whisky retailer whic.de got published, which you can find here (it’s in German) and the next one is already in the pipe line. And, as some of you might already know, yesterday I was invited to visit the Ardbeg Day here in Berlin, where I had a pretty good time and met two blogger colleagues of mine, namely Benjamin from notes of malt and Richard from NOSEing time. I will publish a full written summary of the day soon.

But now, without any further ado, let’s see what you can expect next month.

American Monday

Five new episodes of ‘American Monday’ will come out, featuring two bourbons, two rye whiskys and one single malt from Oregon. Yeah, that’s right, they are also making single malt whisky in the Beaver State nowadays.

Worldwide Wednesday

More expressions from Kavalan, including their whole single cask range called ‘Solist’ (I see what you did there) and their two most recent releases.

Tasty Tastings

I will try to find a good balance between standard-expressions, some older / more expensive stuff and independent bottlings. So next month’s episodes of ‘Tasty Tastings’ will cover, among other things, Edradour, Glenfarclas (Port Pipe Edition), Mortlach, Scapa und finally some Single Grains.

Peaty Friday

Of course I will review the Ardbeg Perpetuum as well as the newest peaty BenRiach called “Dunder” (really excited about that one).

One last thing: If you enjoy reading this little blog of mine (and chances are not bad that you do ff you have read this far) please make sure to give my Facebook page a like and/or to follow me on twitter. I deeply appreciate any support.

April was quite a busy month here at dramlicious.com with 24 new episodes despite the fact that I took two days off from blogging due to Eastern holidays (I did some behind the scenes stuff though). Not only did I review the whole core range from Four Roses, but I also presented to you five different expressions from Yamazaki. Speaking of which, there are still a lot of Suntory whiskies out there left to be reviewed, namely from their other distillery Hakushu as well as their blend line Hibiki. But also scotch whisky did not go short this month as I reviewed quite a few bottlings from GlenDronach, BenRiach, Laphroaig and Arran, just to name a few.
However in May we will shift into an even higher gear, which means even more verticals tastings, more new releases, more independent bottlings and all the other good stuff.

So here are a few things you can look forward to in May:

American Monday

Four new episodes of ‘American Monday’ will come out in May covering four different expressions from the Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky.

Worldwide Wednesday

Taiwanese whisky distiller Kavalan is making a buzz lately in the whisky world, so I guess it is only appropriate to take a closer look. My plan is to review their whole core range in May and June.

Tasty Tastings & Peaty Friday

I do not want to give away too much at the moment (mainly because some episodes are still in the planning phase) but I fully intend to do more vertical tastings, some of them involving independent bottlers, as well as reviews of some of the more recent releases.

Those of you who are following me also on Facebook or Twitter have maybe already seen that I treated myself with a new tasting glass today:

I am not entirely sure yet if I will write a detailed review about it. Would you guys and gals out there be interested in such a review? Maybe even in a comparison of different tasting glasses? If so, please drop me a comment below.

One last thing: If you enjoy reading this little blog of mine (and chances are not bad that you do ff you have read this far) please make sure to give my Facebook page a like and/or to follow me on twitter. I deeply appreciate any support.

Alright, that’s all for now but stay tuned as there will be two new episodes of “Peaty Friday” coming out tomorrow.

Until then, all the best!

I also presented to you some vertical tastings like the one I did for Bushmills on St. Patricks Day (Tasty Tasting Episodes 1-4) and the “old” 18 Year Old vs the “new” 18 Year Old from Glenfiddich (Tasty Tastings Episode 9 and 10).

Hello all you dear readers out there in readerland! How is it going for you lately?

March is already in the books so it is time to give you a sneak peek of the upcoming episodes in April. But first let me give you a short summary of what happened in March here on dramlicious.com.

Alright, in March I covered a pretty wide variety of whiskies, like me tasting whisky from both Finland (Teerenpeli) and Texas (Balcones), two areas not yet known for their whisky production but I am sure that will change in the future. I also blogged about some very good, some good and some not so good limited bottlings which came out more or less recently.

So let’s see what I have in store for you in April. But before we get started, one important note: I will not blog between 3rd until 6th April due to Eastern Holidays.

American Monday

Three new episodes of ‘American Monday’ will come out in April covering three different expressions from Four Roses in Kentucky.

Worldwide Wednesday

Whisky from the Far East (especially from Japan) is getting more popular by the second. The hottest discussed Japanese distillery is right now, without a doubt, Yamazaki. I had the chance to get my hands on five different bottlings from them, which was not an easy task given all the current price increases and stock shortages for Yamazaki whisky. Earlier today I already reviewed the first one, Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013.

Tasty Tastings & Peaty Friday

I do not want to give away too much at the moment (mainly because some episodes are still in the planning phase), but some of the most recent releases will make their appearance here on dramlicious.com.

I guess this has to do the job for now but I hope you are looking forward to all the new episodes in April as much as I do!

There are more news to come in the next days so keep an eye on my social media channels for more details. You can find me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/dramlicious and on Twitter @dramlicious

Until then, all the best!
